Submission Guidelines for the KJPP

The Khyber Journal of Public Policy (KJPP) is a peer-reviewed journal that focuses on broader ‎areas related to public policy issues, including design, implementation, and evaluation. The journal accepts original research papers, reflective studies, and analyses related to ‎international relations, Pakistan affairs, and faith & society reflects a commitment to addressing ‎critical issues and proposing viable solutions to these issues. By bringing together researchers, ‎experts, and policy practitioners, the journal provides a platform for a diverse range of ‎perspectives and experiences, allowing for a more comprehensive and nuanced understanding ‎of complex issues.‎

The journal invites contributions that offer fresh insights, rigorous empirical analysis, and theoretical advancements to address complex policy issues and governance challenges. Our core areas of interest include policy analysis, fiscal management, social policy, crisis management, economic development, digital transformation, and more.

To streamline the review process and maintain high publication standards, KJPP requests that all authors adhere to the following submission guidelines:


1. Submission Requirements

Each submission should include the following materials to ensure alignment with the journal’s requirements:

  • Signed Undertaking: A declaration by the author(s) confirming that the manuscript is original, unpublished, and not under consideration by other journals. This signed statement must accompany the submission.
  • Plagiarism Report: Authors are required to submit a verified plagiarism report from reputable software (e.g., Turnitin) that aligns with KJPP’s anti-plagiarism standards. Manuscripts with substantial plagiarism will not be considered for publication.
  • Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV): Each contributing author should provide an updated CV that includes their current professional affiliation and contact details.
  • Guideline Adherence: Authors should ensure that all formatting and style guidelines are carefully followed before submission. Submissions that do not comply may face delays or rejection.

2. Manuscript Preparation

To facilitate clarity and consistency, authors are requested to prepare their manuscripts as follows:

  • Length and Structure: Manuscripts should be approximately 5,000 words, including references, tables, figures, and appendices. Each manuscript should include:
    • Abstract: A concise abstract of around 150 words summarizing the research question, methodology, primary findings, and key implications without citations.
    • Keywords: Five to six relevant keywords should follow the abstract to assist in categorizing the paper’s themes and focus areas.
  • Language and Style: Manuscripts must be written in American English, with consistent spelling and grammar. All submissions should adhere to the APA Manual of Style for endnotes (in-text citations and a bibliography are not required, as KJPP employs endnotes only).
  • Tables, Charts, Graphs, and Figures:
    • Format: Tables, charts, graphs, and figures should be submitted in an editable MS Word format to allow for adjustments.
    • Placement and Labeling: Position all tables and figures within the text, close to where they are first referenced. Each should include a clear, descriptive title and appropriate labe

3. Submission and Review Process

The KJPP follows a structured review process to maintain quality and rigor in published work:

  • Initial Submission: Manuscripts should be submitted electronically via the KJPP online submission system or by email. All required documents should be included as attachments.
  • Editorial Review: Each manuscript undergoes an initial review by the Editorial Board to assess its relevance, originality, and adherence to the submission guidelines. Only manuscripts that pass this step are considered for peer review.
  • Peer Review: Shortlisted manuscripts are reviewed by at least two independent reviewers in a double-blind process to ensure objectivity. During this phase, both author and reviewer identities remain confidential.
  • Decision: Based on peer review recommendations, the Editorial Board will make a final decision on the manuscript’s acceptance. Some accepted manuscripts may require revisions to enhance clarity, brevity, and consistency.

4. Editorial Rights

KJPP editors reserve the right to make editorial changes to ensure each manuscript aligns with the journal’s standards for clarity, conciseness, and readability. This may involve adjustments in:

  • Length and Structure: Revisions to improve conciseness and coherence.
  • Comprehension and Consistency: Edits to enhance clarity, flow, and uniformity in formatting.
  • Necessary Amendments: Modifications deemed essential by the Editorial Board.

5. Anti-Plagiarism Policy

KJPP upholds a strict anti-plagiarism policy. All submissions are screened for originality, and authors are encouraged to review their work using plagiarism detection tools prior to submission. Manuscripts identified with significant levels of plagiarism will be rejected immediately.

6. Indexing, Abstracting & Achieving:
